CxC Awareness Campaign
LSU Communication Across the Curriculum reached out to ImPRint, looking to increase students' awareness of their programs and resources to ensure no student misses out. Our goal was to deliver 6 videos that could be shown in classrooms to promote CxC.
Starting Point
For this project, we created a total of 6 videos. The videos were organized in three phases: beginning of the semester, the midterms season, and the finals season. We organized them into pairs, with one video being catered towards students who were within the communication-intensive courses who needed more information unique to their expectations, as well as a video for the students who weren't enrolled in C-I courses.
To begin this project, the team had to first write the scripts needed as blueprints for these videos. So, I created the first script for the beginning of the semester, which served as a template for the rest of the team to reference when creating their own. The script includes information about what CxC offered and what resources they could utilize throughout the year.
Next Steps
After the scripts were finalized and approved, we moved into phase two, which was creating the graphics for the videos. For this, we decided to use Canva. This process was simple: create engaging visuals that can be played back as videos, which would then be narrated. Once again, I created the first presentation to serve as a guide and template for the rest of the presentations to ensure consistency, but still allow creative freedom with figures and placement. To further promote consistency across videos, I created a brand package using Canva features that allowed me to save color palettes, typography, and graphics to be used across projects. These included LSU colors of purple and gold, the default background color, and 4 extra colors to use in figures and charts. For the typography, I chose fonts that were readable and fun and designated sizes for titles, subtitles, and text. Finally, I added the LSU logos for CxC and Geaux Communicate to be used within the presentation.

Finishing touches
The final step of this process involved two major components, narration and editing. For narration, I decided to recruit a student who I felt could be energetic and provide the energy I needed to the videos to feel instructional, but also fun and entertaining. This process required setting up a recording booth and compiling all the narrative lines across all scripts to be recorded. This process took two sessions to record.
Once all the presentations and audios were ready to go, I proceeded to start editing the videos. I used CapCut for this process since it is a platform that is very user-friendly for quick and easy editing. I compiled the footage from the presentations and began to adjust the audio clips to fit the content of the slides. At the end, all we needed was some music to add a final spark to the project. The final results speak for themselves.
